Another client of 3 Brothers has decided the time has come to part ways with his project. We've had this truck in for some work over the last year and are hoping to keep it in the 3 Brothers community. As such we wanted to do our part to spread the word that this truck is looking for a new home.
This is a private sale. We aren't selling trucks and we aren't taking cuts. We are a parts business and a restoration shop - not a dealership, with no desire to be one.

For those that don't know, the Lightweights were build for the UK military. The are narrow enough to fit on a military pallet and light enough to be transported by a helicopter. They are essentially a Series 3 with as much weight stripped off as possible.
This client's lightweight is a 1978. He purchased it in Alberta and noted that the owner previous to him had replaced the rear chassis section and also "performed some creative wiring". At some point the motor was upgraded to a 2.5l petrol engine (out of a Defender) with electronic ignition and a SU carburetor.
The canvas top on it is new and the Fairey overdrive works beautifully.
Under the bonnet of this truck, you can see thick white paint. Our best guess is that it was likely a UN truck for part of it's service, but who knows.
This truck needs some work to get it up to snuff and it sounds like the owner is very open to filling you in on his list.
